Faiyoum
Faiyoum is a depression or a basin in the desert immediately to the west of the Nile south of Cairo in Egypt, Originally founded by the ancient Egyptians as Shedet, its current name in English is also spelled as Fayum, Faiyum, or Al Faiyūm.
Faiyoum was also previously officially named Madinat Al Faiyūm, it is Located 100 KM southwest of Cairo, and the Fayoum Oasis is one of Egypt’s most biodiverse and scenic destinations.
